Spider-Man: Brand New Day Swings into Glasgow
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is back on the streets — this time in Glasgow city centre, which has been transformed into New York for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Filming is set to last two weeks, with Bothwell Street at the heart of the action.
Glasgow Becomes New York (Again)
The production has dressed Glasgow with all the classic Big Apple details — yellow cabs, American flags, and NYPD patrol cars. Onlookers spotted a huge armoured vehicle speeding down Bothwell Street, flanked by police, in what looked like a major action sequence.
It’s not the first time Glasgow has doubled for the U.S. — the city has also played New York and even Gotham City in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, World War Z, The Flash, and The Batman.
A New Suit for a New Chapter
Fans got a glimpse of Holland’s latest Spider-Man suit — a classic spandex look with raised black rubbery webbing, the first time we’ve seen that texture since the Andrew Garfield (Peter 3) era. Tobey Maguire (Peter 2) also sported raised webbing, but Holland’s MCU (Peter 1) Spider-Man has mostly worn sleek, gadget-laden suits from Tony Stark.
With Brand New Day set after the events of No Way Home, Peter Parker now lives in a world where no one remembers he’s Spider-Man — and with Stark gone (cries), this stripped-back suit signals a return to basics.
Action-Packed Weeks Ahead
With filming continuing across Glasgow’s city centre, fans can expect more high-energy set pieces and behind-the-scenes glimpses. From armoured vehicle chases to classic web-slinging, Brand New Day is shaping up to blend grounded street-level action with the spectacle Spider-Man fans love.
